This LibGuide includes required and suggested summer reading for each division. Please navigate this site using the drop down tabs on the left to find your division and appropriate section. 

Whenever possible, we've linked to the copy of the book in Sora, but we remind you that your local public library is a great way to access awesome print materials. For a reminder about how to access Sora, please find a tutorial here. You should also add your local public library and all three NYC area library systems (see below) to your Sora account for a larger selection. New York Times Subscription

NYT Subscription for Renewing and New Patrons

The New York Times requires you to annually verify you are still employed at Friends Seminary. This verification is unique to you and is 364 days from the last time you verified. Recently, we were able to upgrade so that you will now only have to verify your employment/enrollment every 4 years to maintain your subscription without interruption. Please follow these directions to renew your access to the NYT when your current subscription expires (you'll know it has expires when you can't access articles).

For users who have had a pass in the past:

Passes expire after 4 years, you just need to go grab another pass. To grab an Academic Pass, please visit nytimes.com/passesSince you have already registered using your school issued email address, just Log In. 

For users signing up for the first time:

To grab an Academic Pass, please visit nytimes.com/passes.

If you have never registered with nytimes.com with your school issued email address, please do so.  You must use your school issued email address as your login since a validation email will be sent to you.  Once you click on the link in the email, you will have access to nytimes.com.
